How can I use geocaching and GPS with my students?(please add to this list)Kickball Challenge
Students mark the waypoints of a series of kicks and then graph them to see who kicked the farthest or import them into googlearth and measure distances. Great for distance and measurement

Perimeter
Mark waypoints of the corners of a space or structure and record the distance between each waypoint to find the perimeter

Dinosaurs of Waterhouse Hawkins
A story about the first man to try and piece together dinosaur fossils. After reading the book, in each cache would be "dinosaur bones" to put together in strange and interesting ways

Slope of Hill
Calculate the slope of a hill using altitude data and trip data on the GPS

Cardinal Directions
Use the GPS to teach students N, S, E, W

Create Shapes on Earth
Students could walk a shape and record the waypoints at each corner. They could then import the waypoints into google earth to see the pattern.

Multicache (multi-step cache)
Create a multi-cache so students are required to complete different maths functions to get to the next location.

Composing a story
Hide different parts of a sequential story in different caches around your school. Students find each part and then rearrange the sequence as a group

Photo Log
Students find locations with GPS, photograph them, then create a map and slideshow. Google earth could be used for this.

Mark cache positions on Google Earth using placemarks. Add a comment and a photo.
To add a photo use the following code:
<img src= "path to photo on your computer"> Picture should be about 300x300pixels.
